How many think Craig should go away, or at least his idiotic posts!!

Leave him alone. He's got more enthusiasm for the 944 than most of us combined.

Who asked for your opinion? Craig has every right to ask a question he has on his mind about his car. Maybe you should go away?

why do you read them if you think they are idiotic?

Blackfoot 10-02-2001 02:43 PM

just do what i do...if a topic is started by someone who's annoying, just don't read it. chances are there is going to be not a whole lot of good information in those posts, just a lot of bs.

you know what's worse is somebody who hides behind a new name. why are you afraid to show your real face, so to speak? if you're criticising somebody, be a man and stand up behind your words.

Kinda the pot calling the kettle black. Talk about stupid posts! Keep your opinions to yourself!

stray15 10-02-2001 03:57 PM

Now this is pretty lame...

Doug914 10-02-2001 04:12 PM

I'm with Blackfoot. Just ignore any posts that you think are ridiculous and/or stupid. I think Craig really adds to the mix, and posts some thought-provoking stuff from time to time. I also kinda enjoy sitting back and reading all the insults and name-calling. It's tempting to add my own little snide remark from time to time, but I try to remain an impartial observer.

So I say, Keep Posting, Craig!

Although I don't condone the usage of a fake name in this case (though I've done it a couple of times myself to mess with other people), I personally think Craig should either go away, or change the way he posts something. I must point out, what bothers me most is the way his posts are worded, the assumptions, and how he expects us (me)to believe BS.

His freedom of speech is interfering with my right to a nice message board. I feel like I'm dumber after reading his posts, just for reading them...

It was quite similar with euro, but he's calmed down since he was new. There was another guy from excite I don't remember his name, anyway that's my take on it.

Ahmet...Why do you hate craig and his ways so much? Something you have to realize, if you don't already, is that BS is human nature...otherwise we wouldn't the criminal law system...so why do you fear it so much? I am sure you lie or exaggerate on things from time to time...I know I do, but not with facts of question. I don't see anything in craig's posts and your attempts to find holes in his facts that would make me believe he is lying or exaggerating...I just see somebody trying very hard to give somebody else a hard time for what ever your reasons may be. I have no problems with craig, his posts, or his claims. I admit I think he makes too many new topics...he should consolidate his thoughts for a day into one post, but thats not a big deal...also, he is has this ungodly obsession with 0-60 times, but I will admit I did in the past as well, so I have no qualms with it...

So...who is this fake poster. I can think of two people it might be...p0r2chby or craig...is that you james? The vote is in, and the nays have it. Laters

I swear to god I didn't not use a fake name. F'ing promise.
Well the way I see it. I wanted a faster 0-60 car just so it'd be more like modern cars and compete with them. I also obsess over the 1/4 times, cuz the faster these times are then most likely the car will be faster at any speeds... ;-) I've not done so many runs since I got new clutch (i wanna keep it new)

TheStig 10-02-2001 06:32 PM

I'm in it with Craig, we are trying to make a 'better mousetrap' out of our NAs. I don't see what the problem is with him anyways. I mean he doesn't trash anyone on the Pelican board, he keeps to himself. So what he posts speed tales...I do too. Its the fact that some people are immature and immediately object about some of the littlest things. Can't we all just get along nice? I mean we all have Porsches. Its not like its Ford versus Chevy on this board...

This is some funny ****......funny how 944 owners cant even stick together ....I mean come on...We dont all have to agree on politics etc. but we should all agree on suporting each other especially when it comes to car projects and car discussions etc...My personal qoute.."Disclosing weakness in others only discloses weakness within" Nobody's perfect but give the enthusiastic thier credit....without them this place would suck...I can definately do without the soap opera, I get enough of this **** from women and TV DONT let it spread to the 944 board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANKS -chrizzzzz

Ribs, I don't fear misinformation, I just don't like it, that's ofcourse besides being annoyed. I've helped euro on more than one occasion, but I do mess with both of them (and as to trying to find false information? Please, hitting 170mph, 0-60 in 6.4?, stripping 100lbs of paint, do I REALLY need to prove anybody anything?), some of it is for fun, but some of it is real... The thing is I don't want anybody to believe that a 944 is faster than it actually is. If I had enough will to really find problems with the posts well, actually I already have, so I'll drop that http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif

Enjoy your car for what it is, the car was never made for fast 0-60, there's no reason to make yourself think that this is what your car is good at. Wanna compete with modern cars? You're more than capable of it, just not 0-60.

"Please, hitting 170mph, 0-60 in 6.4..."

Hey, I don't remember Craig posting these figures (although I may be wrong). I don't recall him posting any top speed claims either. But I do remember him claiming some pretty good 0-60 times. He had several in the low 7's and I think did a 6.9 sec run.

This doesn't strike me as far-fetched BS. I've driven some quite fast n/a 944's (I've also driven a few slower ones too).

Hmmm, I don't seem to recall any Idiotic posts.

I'm sure were all gulity of a bit of off-topic, or "idiotic" post's if not not on purpose.

One of the good thing's of this bbs, is that everyone has a freedom to post, reply and Wax lyrical.

You try this on other boards and see how long you last.

I enjoy coming here not only to read about "porsche" type stuff but also to keep up with the gos. and occasional argument's.

So if it goes to far off-topic, the post get's deleated....

so what's the problem.

... for this Craig thing, my best advice, if you don't like it, dont read it...

I was repeating what i was TOLD.
I didn't do that stuff. I don't even know exactly what they did, cuz there was still damage on the fenders from previous wrecks...

85944na 10-03-2001 08:59 AM

now come on, hitting 170 in an NA should be cake,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=595993987

read carefully, this guy says his na can go just shy of 190,

TheStig 10-03-2001 09:18 AM

Pulling low 7s and high 6s on a 944 NA shouldn't be too hard especially if you have mods. From what i have heard, Craig's car is pretty light since he had taken a whole buncha ***** out of it. Before the ring and pinion went on my NA tranny i was pullin 6.8-7.0 0-60s. Its not impossible. Some of you act like the first people that said nobody can get a honda to run a quarter mile lower than 17 seconds...and now we have rice rockets. From the way I see it; learn from other people and their projects on these cars. I wouldn't be calling anyone liers on this board especially fellow Porsche members... ya'll need to get along seriously...

Doug914 10-03-2001 12:19 PM

Six-second 0-60's with what, plug wires, a chip, a header and MAYBE 100 lb. less weight?
Smiles, everyone, smiles, because you've been spending some quality time with Mr. Roarke and Tattoo.

--Doug

1.2gees 10-03-2001 12:52 PM

That's exactly my point, no internal mods, a few lbs less weight and voila you're doing sub 7 0-60 (and with the experiance you have of driving a stick, you're 16 right?), I don't think so. Craig, the thing is you assume stuff, I don't care what you've been told. Word your post as "I've been told that my paint is 70 to 100lbs lighter than stock, assuming that's true, etc. etc." and NOT "My car weighs 100lbs less because of the paintwork". What you've been TOLD is BS, I'm annoyed by you taking it as a fact, and posting it as such also. See if you worded your post as my first example, I would've responded: "that's total BS", and all would be well. With me? I hope so.

PS: Today I installed a new battery in my car that's 11.5 lbs lighter than what came out. I've removed my cat (I'm going to cut the housing open, and weld a straight pipe in when I get the time), gotten better tires/lighter rims, changed my spark plugs, and just saved 11+ more lbs since my last timed 0-60 run (I'm planning to remove the rotor shields, to construct a brake cooling kit in the next few weeks too while I'm at it, and I haven't forgotten the supercharger, will keep you guys updated). Does all this constitute a new 0-60 test? Hardly, why? Because all that probably don't add up to even .05 secs, be realistic.

Ahmet, you doing the Triangle Z club DE (TT) at CMP in November?

1.2gees 10-03-2001 04:12 PM

Craig, I'm in Cary, North Carolina.

Phat-S, I'm going to try for that event at CMP, probably w/a friend of mine who's a Z-Club member (Local division I believe. Ilkiz, with a white 300zx tt). However, I may still be in RI or NY by then. If you're interested get in touch with me by Oct 25, and I'll tell you for sure. Are you going? I'm going to do both days of DEs if I'm there, don't know about the time trial. We should push this to other 944 enthusiasts, I know there's more than a few down in Charlotte (met Keith last year at the 24 hour auto-x, speaking of which when's that this year?).

Good idea Blackfoot...I'll put up another $200 that in a rented 5sp V-6 Honda Accord, I will beat Euro in his "Eurospec" NA through the 1/4 mile.

After all, we're all located within the state - why not get together? You and I could take turns taking money from Eurospec.

As for Craig, I'll take the race with the 5sp V-6 Solaro vs. his NA anyday for twice the $$$.

With all these guys claiming outrageous hp, 0-60, and 1/4 mile times I have yet to see or hear about one run through the 1/4 mile at a real dragstrip or one real dyno run.

Its time to put up or shut up. Agreed?

I would definately like to do an Auto-x asafp - I want to see how ill equiped I am for solo II. I will be at Triangle and Sandlapper (the week before). We usually stay at Executive Inn (questionable place but it is close by and relatively cheap). Let me know if you know of any auto-x dates in the near term.

I just got two front tires in for this. Only need a backup set of Hawk Blues and might even buy a new set of rotors just in case. And hopefully I will have a video camera for this event (finally!).

Oh, your buddy with Triangle and the white TT; was he per chance at a CMP event with NASA a few months ago?
