Similar to brand new Civic....maybe a tiny bit more.
Rates are of course based on your record. But as important are the price symbol and the year. A 944NA is a price symbol 18, a turbo a 20. Now...a Civic is only a 12 or so....that is where the year comes into play. The rate is adjusted as the car gets older. For examply....my girlfriends 97 Civic EX price symbol 12 is just a bit more expensive than my friends 90 Saab 900 Turbo price symbol 20. (I insured both, and they have the exact same factors)

Mine went up slightly over my 92 Accord EX. I think it was about $10 a month.

My insurance just dropped to $97/month, from $115. That's with no speeding tickets, and only one at fault accident... unless you count the underage stoner. anyway, i'm being robbed.

You ought to try California if you want to see legalized robbery by insurance companies! I'm glad I just carry liability. Let's face it, the book value as low as it is combined with the expensive cost of replacement parts makes these cars VERY vulnerable. All it takes is one jackass to rear-end you at 10mph and the thing would likely be totalled then you'd have no car or a salvage titled car (worthless) and a HUGE monthly insurance payment that had done you nothing - worse than it already is. Not worth it until the values start coming back up - a lot.
Cheap insurance against theft (I don't have a garage)? I club mine, alarm it and park my motorcycle directly behind it (which has a Krypto lock & a cover) so a thief would have to be REALLY motivated, essentially steal the bike by cutting the cable then the Krypto on the bike, then moving it out of the way (you'd have to lift it or defeat the cylinder lock), THEN bust into the Porsche without the alarm going off, cut the club, then hot wire it. So I think I'm pretty safe that way. Rims have the factory locks, stereo has removable faceplate. Never a problem. Cheap insurance against fire? Don't light it! ![]() Cheap insurance against the ever-growing number of inattentive idiots that'd love to rear-end you? 3rd brake light conversion - $70 + an afternoon, driving careful, etc. Screw the insurance companies - they'll screw you first chance they get (like when you need 'em)! I only pay what I have to be legal.

this is my fav subject ! cali is not the only state/province to try and get away with daylight robbery!
i was paying about $2200 a year canadian, for my na. then they said thanks for your money, but sorry, we cant insure you anymore, as you are a "risk". i have no accidents/claims. just 2 minor speeding tickets. after about 2 weeks, they wrote back to me, and said " we have revued your case, and will consider insuring you" bottom line, they wanted $5200. i called them up asking where was their mask and gun, and got put thru to their pet rottweiler. the phone call did not last too long, after i enquired about the legality and status of this mans parents! cut to the chase!! finally found a specialist ins co. who have taken good care of me. no mileage restrictions, full collision, fully comprehensive $100 deductible, and an agreed {appraised} amount, should the car be totalled. all for the grand sum of $227. canadian a dollars A YEAR!!!! can you beat that?? bob.

hi dave, yes it is "lant" u r right on the money. silver wheel plan.
i have an old "beater" car that i use for my "daily driver to work" you cant use your 944 for every day going to work, i generally use it a couple of days, but you can drive anytime you want, and no restriction on mileage. you are not supposed to use it for shopping either, go figure!! for a round trip of 16 kilometers, and to park the car for around 10 hours, i can leave the "44" in the garage, and save myself around $5k. give them a go, dave. if you feel you have any questions, that are not covered on their web site, then give them a call. they are very polite, and great to deal with! i believe the owner is a big car buff. hope this helps. give me a holler, if you want any info regarding how it all goes together, or any other additional info. regards, bob.
