70's colored 944's

Anyone done this? I was just about to do a repaint on my 944 in guards red then started thinking what about Signal Orange, or Mexico Blue. Anyone done this? Any pics of these 70's colors on 944's?

Allthough this is a color that was a factory option in 87, it has that 70's look to it.
The color was called "Summer Yellow".

YES! I love it. The 944 is SO nice in yellow. One of the few cars that can wear yellow and look good doing it.

interestingly enough, every other yellow 944 ive seen looks disgusting

Painting a car yellow is like walking on a tight rope. If you pick the wrong shade, you will fall.
Yep, that color yellow on a 944 looks great, but if you paint it a slightly different yellow, it might smell like Uncle Ben's.
I say, if you have a shop that will (guaranteed) match the porsche factory color, it looks great.

I'd say that Gulf Blue and Signal Orange are better suited to 914s and 911s. 944s look better in shades of grey, silver and black, IMO.

But that Summer Yellow does look good.

I agree, yellow is a sink or swim color...and that shade looks great on a 944

944's look kinda cool in the gulf scheme, IMHO.

almost all racers look good in Gulf colors

the only thing I like to see the color orange on is an orange

and yes, that yellow '44 looks nice indeed

look up the color Diamond blue, you'll freak the F out like I did when I saw it on Napa Cali!!
