Rattling Rear Hatch

Hi everyone. I am suffering from a noisy rear hatch. I spent hours checking everything, the locking posts being too long or too short, the locking mechanism, I greased everything, oiled everything checked all the rubber etc. and I still had a freaking rattle / creaking sound that was annoying the hell out of me. I finally heard from a friend a couple days ago that the sound is actually the glass sperating itself from the metal frame that holds it in place. I found a thread on PCA concerning the rear glass stating that after years of slamming the hatch shut the window seperates and that there is nothing you can do about it except replace the hatch itself with another that hasnt "broken" yet. Really? Can't you maybe remove the trim / rubber spoiler and take the glass off somehow. Then reinstall it with a new seal as if repairing the winshield? If anyone know how to fix this, part numbers, procedures or tips...anything. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you all kindly in advance.

Is it me, or does Sabyre's link above abbreviate so it displays "...ass repair2.htm"?
