Talking excited about repair/upgrades

Assuming that the struts come in from Pelican before then, my car will be going into the shop on Wednesday for the following repairs and modifications:

Replace oil cooler seals, flush system
Correct steering problem (probably gear slipping, rack needing to be tightened... hopefully not steering rod)
Install new shocks (Bilstien Sport) and springs (200lb Weltmeister)
Stock rear lowering "trick"
Alignment

I can't wait to get the the car back!!!! It will ride 1.25 in. lower in front and .75 inches lower in rear... and will (I hope) handle even better. Once I invest in swaybars and the FRwilk chip, I think I will have a pretty good setup in my car

CJ,
Make sure you give us the follow-up. I'm in work on the same stuff, but with the front Koni inserts. I also just swapped in a 24mm front and a 18mm rear anti-sway bar set-up in conjuntion with new tires, and can definitley feel the diff. If you can find them cheap used, you'll definitely be riding rails with the rest of your set-up.

lou, yeah that sounds like a good idea... i think i might go even stiffer tho... 22 rear, 29 front i think

after this, my to-do list reads (in this order):
New tires
FRWilk chip
sway bars/bushings
strut tower brace

DONE!!!!

What a difference! The steering obviously needed to be repaired, and it handles like a dream now... can't wait for a dry day to really open her up (it rained this morning). I probably won't notice the difference with the new struts and springs until I dive into some of my favorite roads... but I'll let you know how it feels. So far it was money well-spent! And the way the wheels fill out the wheel arches now looks great!

no problem... except I have no idea where the digital camera ran off to.

I'll try to get the pics up tomorrow. I think I'll wash the car to celebrate (if it is supposed to be dry tomorrow)

Also, check out the changes to the sig

I wish that someone had one of those G-Tech performance computers that measures G force while cornering so we could SEE a numerical difference from the old set up to the new Weltmeister set up.

well don't forget that my old setup was nearly 21 years old... so it's not like we'd be checking the Weltmeister springs/Bilstein struts against the NEW stock items.

I got around to opening her up late last night (it was pretty dry), and I am very impressed. No dive into sharp turns, no body roll into sweeping turns - the car just stayed level. I'm not going to push my luck because I need new tires pretty soon, but even while taking it easy, the difference was noticable.
