I need to repair the defroster grid on my hatch. The thin horizontal lines seems to be working, but the tape that runs around the perimeter of the hatch is peeling. I have seen kits that include a paint that you mask off and apply to scratches or breaks in the grid. Has anyone used such a kit? Do they work? Is there a manufacturer of such a kit that you would recommend. Thanks -

They do work to some extent. I patched the grid on a Nissan Maxima one time. It worked, but the area where the break was never worked as well as the other side of the window. Basically it's copper contained in a glue liquid that brushes on.

If you have good insurance, have someone break your hatch. - factory glass replacement.
I've heard that they have improved the newer hatches somewhat, makinging them less prone to leakage or popping AFJuvat |
