Don't worry, they are NOT going on my 944. But I have a daily driver 240SX which I'll be using this winter for the first time in snow. It's rear wheel drive and no real weight in back. Where do I get chains,, best brands?? and should I put them on all 4 tires, or is just the back good enough. Probably only need them a dozen times all winter, I'm in Central, NJ and we have flat terrain. But I do travel to POCONOS sometimes. Thanks

Be sure to only chain up your drive wheels, not the steers. Also, you might want to invest in some small bungee cords to maintain tightness. Use about four per wheel, making a 'star' pattern on the outside of the wheel.
Things can get ugly if the chain falls off while your'e driving. I wouldn't drive more than 25-30 with the chains on. |

I owned a 240sx for 4 years and drove it every winter (Erie, PA). All I ever used was studded winter tires and I never had a problem.

chains should only be used in the heaviest of emergencies. the ride with them is ROUGH. get some metal studded snow tires. i used to always get Hakkepelitas. i remember cruising PAST people in 4 wheel drive trucks when i had those on my Nissan S-box.
good luck! obin |

I used chains for a few years on a van...better than snow tires because you only need them once in a while in severe snow/ice and they aren't too bad to put on and can really take you anywhere. Who wants snow tires on when there's no snow (most of the time)
