I am going to replace the idle stabilizer, which involves removing the intake manifold, at the same time I want to replace all the rubber hoses that are underneath there as well. Hose from stabilizer to intake boot, intake boot to brake system and about 3 or 4 other small ones. My problem is that only 1 small hose has a part number and I can't find anywhere-on the other hoses or in parts/tech ref manual or even at AllData.com part numbers for the other hoses. Do you just replace them with regular vac hose from auto parts store or do they need to be from Porsche. What have you other folks done. If you have done this and have the part numbers or tubing sizes would greatly appreciate. 87 944 NA. 127k

Guy,
Try Fuel System 1 page of the Parts Diagrams in The 944 Section of Pelican. You can match up hoses at a parts place 6mm = 1/4 in , etc. drew1 ps: good luck with all them hoses, its like a snake den under the intake manifold. |

I'm picking up my manifold gasket today, and will try and get some answers from the dealer on the various hose sizes.
Porsche quoted me for four seperate gaskets, is this right for the intake manifold, or did they quote me on the exhaust manifold? |

Just picked up my gaskets (there are four). I went ahead and bought both hoses that connect to the idle control valve just to be on the safe side. But I can't seem to find this parts diagram on Pelican.
Hose 1: PN 944-110-217-00 Fuel Hose (yes that's what its called, and I just called an verified that they gave me the right one). This hose is about 12" long, kinda L shaped and has different size inside diameters at each end. Hose 2: PN 944-110-214-01 Rubber Hose. This hose is about 5" long and is S shaped. It, too, has different size inside diameters at each end. Hope this helps. The other vacuum hoses should be easily purchased from any auto parts stored, but these two hoses are special. Send me an email - tharrison@comappspec.com - I'm planning on replacing mine over Thanksgiving. |
