I woke up the whole neighborhood

Yesterday I was driving and all of a sudden my car gets REALLY loud, I shut it off immediately, then look under the car and the cat has come apart from the pipe leading the the headers, so I drove it to the shop today and they dropped the whole assembly, they said it can be fixed really easily so that's good news, but they can't do it until tomorrow so I drove the car home with no exaust, it's soooo loud, really obnoxious, but it's fun to see the looks on people's faces.

That is probably not so good for the undercarriage. Hot exhaust gas escaping down there will probably melt bushings, etc.

LOL, the exact same thing happened to me about a month ago. You certainly get a lot of stares. I fixed the problem by welding on a straight pipe in place of the Cat...dont have to smog it for another 2 years
