No pulse, no spark-ideas

Car no start - car no have spark, car no have pulse - tried a coil didn't work. I'm looking for a good brain to test, any other possibilities?

DME relay?

perfecto951 03-16-2004 10:36 AM

dead battery :) check the wiring to and from the coil. is it not sparking after the distributor? Check your voltages everywhere.

possibly your motor is running low on liquid coolant :) just kidding. if you are inquiring about your 911 you might just go ahead and replace the DME, it's $33.75 and i hear the quality of them is about worthless in the first place.

Battery is good. And yes I can see where you may be confused??? It really is a 944 not the 911. Thanks guys.

Car need DME Relay? Car need ignition Switch?(been heavy hitter lately). Do voltage exist at the coil?

Speed/ referance sensors?

perfecto951 03-16-2004 08:07 PM

i think if the speed sensors were bad (usually not working because they ground out) the engine will turn over - but it won't fire.

is the engine turning over?

AH-HHAA. Reference sensor plug was loose. Found the wire clip was bent and making an intermittent connection. Fixed. Thanks guys!!:D
