problem with hills

OK, I couldn't make it up my final hill home last night because of the snow, so I parked it and walked home, leaving it out in the elements overnight. Started it right up this morning, dug it out, and drove off. First and subsequent hills (up): severe hesitation - tach dipped from ~3000 to ~2800 when trying to accelerate. Had same symptoms in January, when very cold, and Gunk's drygas seemed to work. I'm trying that again, of course, but should I be thinking of something else now that this problem may be chronic?

Extreme cold affects the speed and reference sensors. One of the Porsche DME testing procedure checks. Check for 0.8 mm clearence. About a dime.

fyi- used another bottle of Gunk's verison of drygas, and in addition to fixing the hesitation, the car is running unbelievable well (perfect idle, silky acceleration out to 5500 rpm). That stuff's got cleaners in it in addition to the alcohol for water absorbtion, so it might have cleaned something. Hope it's ok for the car. I'm hoping my recent problem was just that the first treatment in January simply didn't get all of the water.
