Here the heck is the DME??

I don't even know where the DME is. I was told it's under the passenger seat. I don't see anything under there.

hmmm on early 944s, it is under the driver's dash... maybe it is the same on the 924S?

Yep, look directly under the steering column underneath the dash - silver box that says "Motronic" on it - that's it.

yeah but check your crank sensors before you change out the DME - Vertex has rebuilts for $389.
