Please help: Coolant leaking badly

I had 2 leaky hose when I first got the car, the upper and lower radiator hoses were both bad so a mechanic I knew replaced the lower one with the correct hose, but I remember him not being able to find the upper one so he ended up rigging one up out of 2 hoses since it has all those weird bends in it. I leak collant badly now, and wanted to see if maybe the rigged hose was responsible but am not really sure where to find it. I took of the airbox assembly and I took off the guard underneath the car to get access to anything I might need to get to. I poured some water into the colant tank while the car was off to see where it would leak from. The only spots I see it leaking from is from the waterpump, but very small drops are coming out, and then another part that looks sort of like the way the exhaust comes off from the engine, it isn;t the actual exhaist I know, its hard to describe I will try to take pics and send them. I need to know how I can get the coolant to run through the engine without starting the car as I pulled my starter because the ring gear may be damaged which is a whole other problem that I could also use some help in.

sounds like you need a new water pump and oil cooler seals.

Start with the correct hoses.

A few of the hoses that attach tot he waterpump can appear to be a leaking waterpump.

Mechanic couldn't find the hoses?? They are readily available from most parts suppliers.

Water pump is bad. Since you can't stick your head right there and see, the water pump can make it look like there's coolant coming from several different places around the front of the head. The coolant will go in several different directions coming out of the water pump even when there's only one leak. My P-dealer charged me 1200 to replace it with new belts and rollers. You should replace those as well since he'll (the mechanic) be right there and we don't want to see you asking about how much damage your car has since the timing belt just broke.

Oh yeah, if you want to run the coolant through, you can buy a coolant heater at Autozone. You'll have to rig it on one of your coolant hoses. It runs off of electricity and it warms and circulates the coolant in the car, without the car running. It's designed to keep your car's engine warm in the Winter. Then do what SoCal said and get the right hoses after you've destroyed one of them with this little tidbit of info that I just gave ya.
