Rennsport

I just got back from Rennsport... IT WAS A BLAST! I meet AF Juvat and we drove up togeather. I may know about 924's, but AF gave me an education about all the other models. I have to thank him for giving me the guided tour.

There were about 15 917's. Including one of the Gulf cars and one of the Sunoco cars. There were 7 or 8 550's. Two of the four 968 RS Turbos, and every single year and model of the 911. Most of these cars actually went out on the track and raced. I got to see the Carrera GT also.

We had total run of the track. Porsche owners went through the tunnel and parked on the infield. We were able to walk through the garage area. We watched most of the races from the padock suites, and we got to vist victory lane. It was a great time.

There was a 931 that went out for the last race. There were probably 50 or so 944's and a dozen or so 968's. I was surprised that there were so few Boxters. I didn't see a single Boxter race there were 20 or so owners cars though. I didn't see a single 924S and mine was the only 924 that I saw.

still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Yea, one of the best weekends of my life and not ever to be repeated!! I was there each day and really enjoyed being the only 924S GTS there Friday to take several laps on the track. I still have the sticker on the windshield that says "FRONT ENGINE". The eye candy was everywhere. Saturday had the entire pit road filled with every imaginable Porsche you could think of out there and you could walk around and take pics, talk with drivers and also the people that presently own the cars. They seem to get as much pleasure talking about their cars as I had listening to the cams talk. Great weekend and pics to follow.

I'm actually putting together a collection of pictures. All together I have about 200 or so plus whatever Roger took. I'll put some more of them up here and then put them in my "other place" tomorrow
