screeching noise

recently i've noticed that when i first start up my 944 and start driving (ie. engine is fairly cold) i get a loud screeching noise when i let out the clutch and give it some gas, even in neutral. it goes away REALLY quickly, within a minute of normal driving, and there's no tactile feedback at all and no noticeable loss in power. the only clue i have is that it goes away when the clutch is in. the other thing is that i've been driving it for about a month now and i only noticed it last week. any ideas?

Does it only occur with use of the clutch or will it make the noise in neutral with your foot off the clutch? I'm wondering if the clutch is coincidental.

Does it come back if you go out and drive it for awhile? Or does it just go away?
