'85 n/a - will front brake pads fit the rear?

Found a spare set of front spec pads from a misorder (from before I got the 944.)
Couldn't find the answer searching threads , before I pull the calipers can anyone tell me?

If I recall correctly the front and rear were different sizes when I replaced mine

No they won't fit ,(see pic) top is the front pad /bottom rear pad.
