I swear this thing is welded to the pump housing.
I tired everything...It will not budge. I even tried hooks on each eye and pulling on it.. it will not break loose. I broke 2 pairs of snap ring pliers. The head just broke off. Im guessing it the original one???? Im due for a belt change in 10k... Ill just get them done early and change the pump with it. I cant let it go...the car is running hot. *&^^H&%%#??!!#$%$&^&**%*()^$# !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mambodave, if you were in VA we're planning a timing belt party for early July.... NC is not too far
![]() Don't mean to hijack your post, just have one related question. Is there a place on line where I could get a low temp thermostat? Thanks much!

Burn the fire.

Just remember to re-install the snap ring with the eyelets in an EASILY accessible position. Otherwise, you get to have this fun all over again

Havent convinced you of the Tin Snips yet?
Cut carefully all of the metal you can then pull with vise grips. Do not cut or bother with the snap ring, cut the therm.only. When it comes out in peices you will be able to move the snap ring to where you want it. (I too bent and ended up welding my snap ring plyers back together for strength).
