front spoiler
Hello all, another question. I am in need of a new front spoiler for my 84 944 and I was thinking about the fiberwerks one, but after some thinking about it, I think I'm going to stay origional. Any suggestions about getting a new piece? I was looking at 944online.com and saw this: http://www.944online.com/images/P1010013.jpg
I think I've seen it on ebay before too. Has anyone used this part before and have any comments about it? Or possibly any other suggestions about replacing this? |

If I stay with the original look, I'll be getting that one.
There are other kits that upgrade the look of the front end. My spoiler is so beat up from hitting curbs while parking. I believe mine has been lowered by the PO.. That particular piece should just be a paint job and bolt it in. Good luck and let us know how it turns out ( Pics please ) Don

Replacing the valence is just a matter of removing the lights, and unbolting. Nothing too tricky there. Had mine off twice. The one from 944 online is not bad from what I hear. I just don't really like the price. You might get lucky at a wrecker's, getting a used one. There are many good condition ones out there.

If yours isnt too bad (ie:craked in half) you can repair them quite easily. I did one. Dupont makes a Plastic like bondo that will allow you to fill in cracks, sand primer and paint. If done right, youd never know the differnce. If I remember right, It cost me $20 or something. Ill se if i can find the nema of the stuff.

Sorry Don, the curbs in Germany are actually lower than here.

Removing the front spoiler: take the bumper off first--makes the job a whole lot easier. Then, it's 3 bolts on the top on each side, 3 on the bottom in the middle, and 1 on each of the "wingtips."
If they're not too badly off, I've been able to straighten them out with a heat gun, and repaint them.
