thermostat question
if I take the thermostat out is it stamped or marked in some way that I will be able to tell if it is the stock one or a cooler one?
what would happen if the thermostat turned out to be cooler than stock and the thermo switch was stock? I ask because I'm pretty sure i need to replace the thermo switch (based on a couple of other questions I;ve asked here ) and i talked to the PO and he "Thinks" he put in a cooler thermostat but doesn't remember for sure . Thanks, Gary

mine actually ran hot with a low temp stat and a stock thermo switch.
It ran above the 3rd mark. I had to put in a low temp switch to match ths stat. Now it runs below teh half way mark. Try it and see though. mabey youll get lucky.

I should be stamped. You may have to really look for it (as in, on the inside somewhere)
I am an advocate for matching the thermoswitch and the thermostat. It caused me and the PO all kinds of headaches until I finally replaced both with the cooler temp. Now, two things.... One ----- I AM in florida - 60% or better humidity ALL YEAR LONG + heat. Two ------ Sometimes lower temp units are put in to cover up other cooling issues.
