Power Steering Bracket??
Question for anyone with an unmolested 944. My PO did a number on this car, and one of the numerous things is this, hand-made, hack-sawed bracket that holds the power-steering pump. I'll post a picture when I can get under it. He drilled holes in this thing at various places. I think it is actually part of a lawnmower blade, I ***** you not.
I just want to know, what is SUPPOSED to be there? Does anyone have a picture / part description, so I can properly fix this? Thanks all. |
See picture below.... (the big triangular thing)
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089178740.jpg If that is the part you need, you will need to remove the timing & balance shaft belts, as well as the belt covers, and crank pulley to get at it. Part is still available from Porsche - I just replaced on in a car last week. It runs about $1250.00 Used ones may be available. AFJuvat |
WHOOOAAAA Horse... Yaaaah!!!
I just need some sort of bracket. If this is a 1250 part, then I can understand why he used a lawnmower blade... I have to post a picture. What I need is an adjustable tensioning bracket. I have a friend who is a machinist, I'll have him carve me up something. -J |

Are you just talking about the pivot bracket for the pump? If so, I don't think AFJuvat's picture is the correct one. I do have a pic....but is on my computer at home. I will post it when I get back this evening. |
My swag is your are looking for the adjustment rod/strut. These can be found for around $35. One place that has them is...
