You can use the injectors from the 86 but the fuel rail is a different configuration. Don't know if you can use the fuel pressure reg or the damper off of the later fuel rail as the hose connections are sometimes a bit different too.

I have the 83 fuel rail on as well because the one on the 86 had been spotwelded

Today I set the engine to TDC and the rotor pointed to plug wire #3............. I thought another kitty had died so I pulled the head off and the valves and pistons are fine.....I guess somehow the timing is off just right where the wrong valves are open at the right times.....180 degrees off or something....so now i'm going to order new gasgets and put it back together and she should be fine.

what is the horsepower difference between and 83 motor and an 86?
