Anyone know of a good interior restoration place in PA/NJ area. I have an 88 944na with a pwr driver and normal pass seat in tan leather that I would like to have replaced/repaired/restored or whatever.

Find any decent auto upholstery shop and go look at what they're working on / some examples of their work. I knew I'd found the right place when I walked in and they had two boats, a restored 60s Cadillac convertable, a Ford T-Bird (50s) a Corvette and a BMW. They were expensive, but WELL worth it. I went and saw my rebuilt seats a couple of weeks ago and it made me weak in the knees - they're that good.
You get what you pay for though - they're setting me back about $1600.

Trevor,
Thanks for the link...I will check them out. By the way, they list Black, Burgundy & Linen. Are these the colors that Porsche had available for the 944 or where there more that are not listed?

There are those seat kits in leather also, I forget who was carrying them...
I would like to get them in leather instead of the Vinyl. Or deal with it till a professional custom job can be done. If you don't mind the Vinyl, those seat kits are great, from what I have heard.

Good interior shops in the pa area are:
Willow Grove Auto top, willow grove pa just above philly 215 659 3276, they do alot of restoration, PCA, and work for holberts. VEry reputable in this area. Can be a little $ but great to deal with. they can get interior kits in leather and vinyl and custom colors. Rydon, in philly, more resonable, Like willow grove they do all aspects of interior work. but a little more resonable. ![]()

I had a local shop do my side seat bolsters, driver's side, covered with leather for $50. Excellent job, this was a mom and pop shop, but their examples were flawless. So my point is, you don't always need to pay $1,000 for upholstery work!

True enough, I think a lot of the cost was from using the original Porsche OE leather skins and pads - they're pretty expensive!

I'm pretty sure they can do custom colors just email or call them, they seem very helpful.

When I was there, he happen to have some scrap burgundy leather which was a perfect match, in my opinion, so he did not need to order the factory leather. If you are restoring a concours 944, get the expensive leather, but if it's a driver, don't spend the money.

I used a place in N.J. called Great Buffalo and they did an excellent job recovering a 964RS seat for $375. Would use them again! They are located in Union New Jersey.
