it lives
I drove my car tonight. It was a momentous occasion. Screw the olympics, this was real world triumph.
The brakes work fine. A bit of squeal, but perhaps just until they wear in. The rears lock before the front, but this might be because the fronts are new pads and will get better in a few hundred miles. Speaking of which, I will be driving it a few hundred tomorrow. I can't wait. Partial list of things done: - resurfaced light guides for instruments, now I can see them - Replaced odometer gear. - Fixed turn-signal cancel (via electrical tape) - Replaced O-Ring in turbo water pump housing - Replaced bolts I stripped - Filled/Bled cooling system - Removed front rotors, had them machined - Replaced front brake pads - Oil Change - Fuel Filter Change - Spark Plug Change - Replaced Battery - GOT NEW TIRES!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! (Toyo TS-1) Realize of course that I screwed up everything at least twice, every bolt was a battle, the easiest parts were often the hardest. I know a competant mechanic could probably do it all in a day, but I am not competant. I can't believe its working!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

#1...titles expressing enthusiasm should be done in bold text. When bold text is unavailable, use a exclamation mark to let us know you're really excited. I'm not feeling the excitement here.
#2...never replace o-rings. They're made of rubber, which is not biodegradable...so they'll last forever. Anyone who tells you to replace them is a fairy. #3...electrical tape is only used by competant mechanics. You're not competant, by your own words. You must replace all electrical tape connections with an assortment of bailing wire and duct tape. #4...Who are you? Where are my pants? #5...congrats.

Hey, some of us don't have easy access to bailing wire so we have to use coat hangers instead.
