Ques on Fuchs for you guys
You know that 951 Fuchs (944) are used a lot on the 911 hot rods. I have a guy that wants to sell me 4 Fuchs at a pretty low price. Many things can be wrong, I know. I'll take them one at a time, like checking for straight and true.
The Fuchs are listed as 7 x 15 (2) and 8 x 15 (2 more). The seller says they ALL have a 951 PN on them. Is this possible? What wheels (Fuchs) came on youz guys cars? I thought the 951 was 8 x16. And I though all 7 x 15's were a 911 PN. TIA. |

My 7x15s on my old 944 n/a definitely had a 911 PN on them. You're right - 951s only ran 7/8x16" wheels, so if this guy claims that he has a number that reflects this, then it makes sense. He's shootin' straight with you so far.
If they're not fakes, there's not too many things that can be wrong with a Fuchs wheel, as they're generally very solid. Good luck!

No, he's telling me that he has 8 x 15 Fuchs with 951 PN. My research and your comments don't support this. I think the guy is either stupid or a scammer. The wheels were on Ebay. I don't want a 16" wheel right now.

I looked at the link as well. Its confirmed, Milt - 15" rims do NOT have a 951 part number. Either someone scammed the seller initially, or he's BSing you. Either way, you know what (not) to do.........

All 951 had at least 16" wheels. Earlier 944 used the 15" and had a part number of:
911.361.020.41 for the 7x15 911.361,020.42 for the 8x15 Scammer or does not know what he is talking about. AFJuvat

I've decided to part with a spare set of 15's.
But my part numbers are slightly different. The 7x J 15's are 911 361 020 11. The 8x J 15's are 911 361 020 12. Pretty sure I didn't miss something, the 11 and the 12 are separate from the 911 series. Yes, the little fox is there. These have a nice set of Pirelli P6000's on them 215/60's and 225/60's. Recently refurbished, painted and polished paddle style. |
