what size tires
I know we have just recently been over tire sizes, but I am a newbie and I did a search and couldn't get any clear idea on what I can put on my car.
I have an 85.5 944 with fuchs, can you tell me from that exactly what range of tires I can put on? I need some new tires. I believe right now I have 225/50 R15 on the rear and 205/50/15 on the front? I admit I don't really understand tire sizing.

225 = width in mm's
50 = the ever mysterious aspect ratio (how tall the tire is compaired to width) the larger the number the taller the tire. 15 = that there be your wheel size in inches. If your wheels are all the same width (probably so) than you could go up on the front size to equal the rear in the very least. I wouldn't go with anything more narrow ie <205 What look or performance are you trying to acheive?

I have the 16' Fuchs, I have 205 55 16s on the front and 225 50 16s on the rear. I just put on a new set of Dunlop Sport 5000s and they are great so far.

I am going for performance.. I don't autoX or anything (yet) so I would like something that won't break the budget too bad but will perform nice on the street.. hopefully less than $100 per tire.
thanks for the info
