Car was in an accident :(

So my brothers 1991 Toyota Corolla was having some trouble up at his school, so i let him borrow mine as I can't take it to my college. Today at about 8:00 I get a message on my computer: Call me. So I call him and he tells me that he got in an accident in my car, and hes really sorry at that stuff, because he knows I love my car.

I get the details on the accident from him and It turns out, he was turning left into an intersection when he had a red light, and got hit at about 15-25 mph. Apparently he stopped and was playing around with my CD player, and then thought he saw the light turn green, when infact it haden't. Luckily he was hit in the Passenter rear. Seems like he was probably hit about where the door meets the back panel. He said i'll need a new door, and rear panel, which thanks to owning a parts car, I have .

I'll go home this weekend and take a look at the damage. I only have Liability insurance so no payments though instead of getting the panels color matched, ill just get the whole car repainted . So things might actually turn out for the better here.

I've requested pictures so as soon as he can find out which Towing place has the car, then he'll take a few pictures of the damage. In the mean time, we can look at what the car used to look like

Don't let the shineyness fool you, the paint was in bad shape.

His insurance should cover it, not yours.

Get a copy of the police report. If he tries to snake out of not paying, take him to court. And preferrably try to get on Judge Judy.

lol hes 20 im 18. We are both still on our parents Insurance policy. He said that the other car Hit the door, and then it slid down over the rear fender. as long as the D pillar (i think thats which one it is) is still in good shape, then we dont have to worry about anything other than a few panels and maybe the gas filler line, but that should be 100 % fine

Lol. If anyone had an accident with my 944 I would take it as a personal insult. Also make sure you get Judge Joe Brown, Judy is impartial toward men.

Hard luck. Not even the wife drives mine and fortunately has no desire to because of the heavy steering and being embarrased to be seen driving even an old Porsche, so I take my hat off to those of you prepared to let others drive your toys. I suppose 944's are relatively cheaper over in the USA so less financial loss, but at least second hand spares are more readily available there.

Seaboltman - not to get off the subject, but exactly what color is that 944? It looks A LOT like the infamous Montego Black Metallic in which only 83-84 cars were painted. I love that color!
