Hmm, perhaps you can find a set that is an _exact_ swap, mine took a little fudging.
On the VW shafts, the joints inside the ends were different, one end had larger bearing races and carriers, along with larger bearings than the other end. However, they were remanufactured, so perhaps this was done by the shop?
It was simply a matter of removing the snap ring, and pulling the whole joint off, boot too. Then slipping it all onto my old shaft, and crimping the boot back on. I took some time, removed all of the ball bearings, and got everything super clean, before repacking with Mobil 1 synthetic cv grease, wanted to get all of the black stuff out of there.

These were rebuilt by ARI, who I would never, ever buy from again.

The CV joints on about 10 different VW's are an exact swap, but this was the cheapest set, at least that I could find.
They match on a VW thing, all of the vans, I think on rabbits and scirocco's but I could be wrong on those, I think they also match on some Jetta's.
What I did, was go to eurowebparts, and I looked up the picture of a 944 cv joint (disassembled), and then started digging through all of the VW ones until I found some that looked the same wrote them down, then hit the local NAPA.
I walked in with a list of about 15 different models/years to check, but I have since misplaced it.

I believe all of the 90mm cv joints will swap over.

I can take it from there, thanks... I'm actually more familiar with VWs than Porsches.

So you say it's a standard 90mm VW joint? Wonder why they did not use the 100mm joints that VW used on the higher HP models?

Stupid thing is I just sold some VW CV's on eBay earlier this year thinking I would never need them again...
