Removing tie rod end

Topic says it all... When i try to loosen the nut that keeps the tierod end connected the whole bolt just moves with it and nothing happens. Is there a 'trick' solution to this, or is removal/destruction the only way out?

Try using a set of vice grips on the top and bottom of the tie rod end and compress. THe added pressure keeps the end from rotating, allowing you to remove the nut.

or jam a pickle fork or large screwdriver in there and put pressure while you turn the nut, will do the same thing.
