Starbucks?!?! Ugh. My wife works for Coffee Bean, so that's a no-go.

Is this a 944-only thing? If not, I'll cross-post to 914club.com (we get a good turnout for 914 SoCal events) and have it stickied!

Dave! I took the 911 last year, and saw only a few 944's. I'll bring the 944 this year! It was a great day last year, thanks again for continuing the tradition.

Michael.

no- the hangover rally is a large gathering of vintage and classic sportscars. the organizers charge $25 to join them. their drive is somewhat sedate (how many 30's and 40's vintage cars do you know can turn left/right and stop repeatedly for 30 minutes?) after their "tour" they end up at paramount ranch for their picnic - same place we will end up for ours. so the choice is yours- lots of contemporary (primarily porsche) sports and classics having a little driving fun or the sedate $$ tour. either way you get to look all of them at the picnic

... Someone has to bring the tools and spare parts to fix our cars, right?

The run was (as usual) a great success!

I saw two 944 Turbos there, and a third was westbound on the 134 this morning at 7am, but didn't show at TRE.

Gotta love the wintertime in SoCal.

Ahhhhh... I can't believe my luck. I live about 3 minutes from the Starbucks but I never knew there were other Porsche fanatics around here. Too bad my Porsche 944 is parked at the mechanics (needs a new dme, look at the post).

Is there any email list or website I can register with to be informed of upcoming events? I am in college right now (UC Davis, near sacramento) but come down to Calabasas on my breaks to enjoy my 944.

Thanks.

That be me. The only normal breathing 944 there. I had a sailing date in Redondo after lunch so I couldn't hang around, and I had wanted to chat. Nice to meet you and your other half!

Michael.

Hehe. Seriously - I would have needed more than Starbucks to show up that early after last night

Yea I was kind of hoping to chat more and get a look at your car. Very nice - one of the nicest n/a specimens I've come across (mine included!) Hope to meet up with you again at an upcoming event. . .

Thanks to all the Pelicanites and friends that made this event a lot of fun! Our cars are made to be driven, not just parked in a garage. Happy New Year to All

Ask and ye shall receive. . .

The ride started (for our pack) at TRE Motorsports, there were probably about 50 cars total, lots of 911s, a few Corvettes, one new '05 Mustang, a 427 Cobra, a smattering of 914s and the two 944s (including mine) ended up in the front group leaving there to the Callabasas Shopping Center, where we linked up with another group comprised of about 50 more cars including another silver 944, a whole bunch of 911s, a couple more 914s, another couple of Corvettes, a couple of highly modded Mini Cooper S-es and (yes) Jay Leno driving a beautifully restored Oldsmobile Toronado - which held a little surprise (see below, the pic describes it better than words would). I'm pretty sure I saw a Ferrari also.

Anyway, enjoy the pics. Most are from walking around at the final destination (the ranch), but a couple are from TRE and a couple are from the Shopping Center stop.

A really nice 914 at the initial meeting point (TRE Motorsports)

Some of the other cars at TRE. . . The 911s were plentiful!

A very nice red 944 n/a sandwiched between two nice white 911s - that's singpilot's car. . .

A gorgeous black 911 cabriolet. . . I might have to get me one of those!

A very interesting 914 with V8 conversion. I don't even want to fathom how unholy fast that thing is! Beautiful condition also!

After the brief stop, this is a shot of our pack winding up through the canyons - LOTS of fun! That GT3 is quite fast - lots of fun to run with. And yes, the 427 Shelby replica decided to join us for the day also. Wheee!!!

There was a bit of a traffic jam in the canyons getting close to the ranch (I think they weren't prepared for 100+ Porsches to show up!) Here are a couple of the guys that were on my tail in line. . .

After I parked, I watched the other packs roll into the ranch - there were a LOT of cars! You can see the line. . .

And a few parked past the entrance to the ranch too. . .

And a few more parked in the main (upper level lot) for the ranch. . .

More to follow. . .
