thats horrible. the guy in (what looks like) the ferrari had to have been killed.

I've seen it before. Supposedly the guy in the red car lived but had some pretty bad injuries. Idiots for trying to run a race in that kind of fog. . .

Isnt a racing fuel cell supposed to avoid these types of explosions?
It made me feel a little sick after watching that. |

It was some GT race in 98 ...The driver of the ferrari did live with major burns. Theres some info online about it if you look it up.

I must warn you, it's pretty.... gory... I mean... oh god... just... I'm speechless... Here's the story that goes with it... " have a video here of one of the worst accidents in motorsports history. It was the death of Tom Pryce and a track marshall at the Kyalami Racetrack in Africa. Caution – there is some blood and gore… but I will explain what happens. There was a car on the side of the track that was having a typical engine fire. The track marshalls tried to cross race traffic with their equipment, and some made it across… but one didn’t. One man was struck by Tom Pryce’s Formula 1 car AND the man was holding a fire extinguisher which hit Tom Pryce (driver) in the head, instantly killing him. Later in the video you can see the aftermath of the man who was hit, and Tom Pryce… where his car drives lifelessly out of control to the other end of the track. Pretty crazy video. -Tweak" |
