Hey,
I have myself a 1978 924 NA, and I am having a problem deciding whether to keep it or not. Is it worth it to keep it? Its old and im not sure how long it will last. Maybe someone experienced can point me in the right direction :- P. It is fairly old and it shows, although its not nearly as bad as a lot of newer cars I have seen. I imagine there is a lot of hidden rust just waiting to burst out, but there is none visible at the moment. There are various cosmetic flaws such as dents and scratches, but nothing major. It drives well, but the idle fluctuates quite a lot. If its looked after well will it survive, or are they prone to rusting through and dying? I wouldnt mind restoring it when the time and money become available, but if its doomed to rust out or die trying then I will need to sell it. Thanks for any help. |

Personally i'd keep it - i had a '78 924 which i used as a spares car for my '83lux (the top half of the '78 was well rusted beyond repair). The early 924's were only half galvanised i believe so i guess many have rusted away.Based on that surely they've got to be collectible so i'de keep it and give it some TLC if it's ok.

Thats got me very worried... the roof of my 924 has a fair bit of rust. Damn I will have to have that looked at ASAP.
Based on that if it isnt too rusty I will definately keep it, so thanks for your input. |
