bad and low voltage

Im getting low voltage and my battery will not take charge.
Ive replaced all wires to the starter, alternator, and battery.
I thought it was the battery so Ive replaced it as well, actually twice in a few months. I took the first one i bought and the guy said the cells are fused together. Not sure what that means but they gave me a new one.

Ive checked the alternator and bypassed the regulator. When I first start the car I read 14 volts and after letting the car run I kept checking the voltage. After a few minutes it starts to drop example 14, 13.99 and about every 30 seconds it drops a .01 eventually after 40 minutes running the car it drops to around 10 volts and stops.

Any idea whats going on with her.

How did you check the alternator?

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

Used a digital multimeter and bypassed the regulator with a screw driver.

Shorting through the hole from the side of the alternator case to the viewable contact should get you at least 16 volts. If not then the alternator itself is bad. If you are close to a large city you might find a generator/alternator/starter rebulder than can go through your alternator or be able to provide you with a good one. I would stay away from the corner parts stores like Kragan and Pepboys.

I called around and found one place said they would rebuild it for around a 100 and the other place was a shade tree mechanic he said 50. From what Ive heard he rebuilds alot of alternators and is highly recommend.

Thanks for the input.
