Dual Exhaust?
I've always looked at the back of the car and thought that it looked lopsided because of the single muffler. Anyone have a dual exhaust setup (not talking about true dual exhaust, talking about 2 mufflers) that they have pictures of?

I was thinking with a modified euro rear valance it would look pretty bad ass
voodoo - true dual exhaust on our cars would be expensive and pointless. Hell my dodge stealth with a V6 3.0L engine didnt even have a use for a true dual exhaust. I have my parts car, i may just run down to Mr. Tire with the muffler and have them do some fabrication on a nice dual out.

You will be hindering access to everything your new muffler covers, make sure it is easy to drop when you have it fabbed up. Also, there will be more turns in the exhaust now, so it certainly won't improve performance. If the look is that important to you, that the inconvenience and lack of functionality don't matter, go for it. But you and the car would probably be better off if the cash were invested in tires, or a radiator flush.

there wont be much more in the way of turns, all there would be added would be a splitter where the muffler detaches, and then the two mufflers would branch off from there. Certainly the original muffler would not be changed but by a few inches or so. As I said in an earlier post, the muffler would be functional not just for show.

seabolt man, the only problem is making it fit, the spare tire well may have to go, and have you looked to see where your gas tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump are located recently?
not that it will be impossible persay, but i wouldn't want something that can reach 500 degrees right below my fuel pump, gas tank and fuel lines.

ya, i really havent thought it through at all, just was sitting here yesterday and thought it might be cool. I was planning on taking a look at what was around later today or tommorow, and see if it is doable.

not to say its not doable, but your gonna need ALOT of fabrication. Relocating the fuel pump and lines may not be necxessary, but proper insulation will definately be. Boxing them in somehow is what you need to do.

The only thing a true dual exhaust would do is lower the exhaust gas velocity so much that you'd lose noticeable low-end torque without making any gain at high RPM since a single exhaust already flows enough air at high RPM. A fake dual exhaust for aesthetics is one thing, as long as you know that it's just for aesthetics and not a performance addition. A true dual exhaust is nothing but a waste of time and money. Also, finding a way to hang even a fake dual exhaust will be difficult since there really isn't any room for it under the car. Aaron

Damn!
Two mufflers would only add weight. No need. Just get one good one and suprise the Civic idiots with how good one can be made to sound. A 2.5" with Borla on an n/a sounds mighty fine. Better than those ugly fart cans any day!
