throttle cable adjustment

I noticed that the throttle cable has a little slack in it since I put a new throttle cam on it. Where exactly do you adjust the cable from? I know its loose since there is a little play when I press the gas till it actually opens the throttle.

Follow the throttle cable back to the firewall - youwill see two jamb nuts to adjust the cable with (13mm I believe)

adjust those jamb nuts! You want the throttle cable to be as tight as it can get without permantly holding the throttle a little bit open (in other words, you want it just loose enough so that when you let off the gas the revs will drop to idle).

Otherwise you are just killing your throttle response.

There are 2 adjustments you need to make:
1.) Take the slack out of the cable at idle. You make this adjustment with the 2 nuts where the throttle cable exits it's sheath by the throttle body.
2.) Adjust the gas pedal stop to ensure you are acheiving wide open throttle (WOT). Have an assistant hold the gas pedal to the floor, then see if you can open the throttle plate any more by hand. If you can, adjust the gas pedal stop down to ensure WOT. Caution: Make sure the gas pedal stop (not the cable) stops the pedal travel, not the cable. If the cable is stopping the pedal, it will stretch & possibly break.
