924 manual windows in a 944?

Just curious to see if 924 roll up window mechanisms will fit in a 944. I was talking to CJ and Im going to attempt to line up some kinda model to build a 944 'RS', which would involve removing everything that is power. My motors kinda suck anyway so manual windows would be more reliable in my case.

Also, is it hard to fit earlier non powered seat rails and adjustments to the powered seats of the later models? I want to keep my sport speats, but ditch the 4 way power (they dont work in 3 of the directions anyway). When I get them restitched I'll have the whole covered.

thanks. Now all I have to do is find some 924 mechanisms and some handles. Then onto the custom door panels.

I'm not certain about that. The last time I looked into this, I was told that the 924-specific parts don't work properly with post 85.5 944 systems. I don't have any first-hand knowlege, that is just what I was told (want to eventually do this myself). I don't remember the particulars, but it had something to do with the scissor mechanism and how it attached/interfaced with the window.

I know that Skip at www.*****************.com has the parts list needed for this conversion and can supply the parts (he seems to be the expert on this). It may be worth an email to him.

thanks for the advice. Im going to email him now.

I came up with another idea today as well. When I get my seats rewrapped, im going to get 944 with an RS set down a bit like the 911 badge stitched into the headrests. What do you think guys?

Hey, Great idea for the 944 "RS"!
I think this would be sweet as a Renegade Outlaw, via 944!
These cars are getting to be classics too, Im glad so many other guys are so interested in these, like myself. Can you send me a picture/s of your finished product, and how it works as far as functionability??
I'd appreciate it greatly.
Thanks, and good luck.
