Engine Swap/Upgrade
My 2.5L has sucked the #1 ring into the oilpan, and trashed the cylinder wall.
I was wondering how hard would it be to upgrade to the 2.7 engine. I know the only real internal differance is the bore. The 2.7 has different exaust headers, however, they use the same head to headers gasket so I should be able to use mine. The 2.7 has knock control which I would like to keep for a street car. Wiring would be the issue I believe. The engine I was looking at has the wiring harness dme, and comes complete. Since my 924S has the later (series 2) wiring harness, this should be pretty easy then correct? I am aware that this does not increase the value of my car, and all the rest. I will be owning this car for a very long time, regardless of which engine gets put into her. Just looking for some more TORQUE down low! Thank you all in advance,

Depending on how bad that cyc;inder was is you might be able to repair it. If you can find a 2.7 its just about the same engine different bore, So it would be a easy swapp. You would not be able to use the knock sensor since the 924S doesnt have one, But you could hook up a aftermarket knock gauge to it just to keep a eye on things. If you do the 2.7 swap make sure you get the AFM and DME then I believe its just a drop in.
