Starting problem pops up out of nowhere

Early '85 was starting/running like a champ last weekend...brand new plugs, wires, 1/2 tank of gas...now all of the sudden won't start. Actually it starts, runs for about 2 seconds, then stalls. Following that it won't start at all unless letting it sit for about 30 minutes, but then it stalls again after just a few seconds.

I was thinking maybe DME related, but not sure. Any ideas?

Could be DME, or relay.. Don't think it would be speed/reference sensors. When I had that problem the engine wouldn't even turn over for me.

A good place to start is here:

Chalk another one up to the Pelican Crowd...replaced the DME relay, and she fired right up.

One of that bunch of vacuum hoses under the intake could be cracked or the airflow meter bad.

Mine did same thing and cause was bad speed/reference sensor connections on connector block on bracket at back of engine near firewall. Bend female pins inwards so they make better contact with male and clean with pure alcohol or similar (dry properly afterwards).OOps-see you got it right-relay problem.
