I finally took my car out of winter storage yesterday. After driving it around for two hours (wanted to make sure the battery was properly charged) I decided to tackle two of the many projects I have parts for.
First I removed the rear wiper and put in a plug. Pretty straighforward. Second, I removed the year-old Midas muffler (installed by the PO and already rusting) and replaced it with a new Dansk system. I had to improvise rear hangers (anyone know the proper way to hang a Dansk muffler?) which I plan on replacing. I took the car for a spin. The difference is night and day. Much more low-end torque. The idle is not as rough as it used to be. Acceleration is smooth and linear. The sound is pure heaven. As a bonus, the muffler no longer shakes and rattles above 3k rpms. The old muffler must have been very restrive. I give the Dansk system two thumbs up! ![]()
