Shop time estimates
Hey, all,
At an experienced Porsche shop, about how many hours do you think it would take to: 1. replace power steering rack with a rebuilt unit? 2. timing belts, front engine reseal, water pump replacement? Just trying to ballpark the estimate I got. I trust the shop (it's been recommended on enough message boards), just wanted to compare notes. |

Cool, then everything's on the mark.
Took the car to RPM. There were some great looking 911's in various states of dissasembly there. And a beautiful 86 (?) 944. And a slightly less pretty but still beautiful blue 944. Oh, and a c4 vette. |

RPM is a great shop. Stan used to work at Intersport and split in the mid 90s to start his own shop with Bill. They were great to deal with when I took my car in there (and probably happy with the $4000 repair bill...)

Seems a little high... I paid a little under $500 without a waterpump, IIRC.

I paid for 5.75 hours of labor to do this job (incl. roller replacement) + replace a fuel filter (didn't add much time) in January 2004.
