speed sensor
 
does anyone know if you broke a speed sensor on an 89 944 make it not run?

thanks. Imjust replaced the clutch. i had to beat one of the sensors out. i have a new one ordered but it ain't in yet..ssigh. so i can;t test my new clutch. I must add the clutch job was fun to say the least.

I had to remove the bracket to get the clutch housing off. then i had to drive the sensor out to remove it......it was really stuck. I did mark the position of the sensor bracket before I removed it. Do you reckon it will be close enuff?

NO! Your mark in the bracket mount is not enough to assure the correct gap. Sensor has to be about 0.8mm from the flywheel trigger. Use a 0.8mm washer temporarily glued to the sensor tip then adjust the bracket.
