Ordered Arnn's new tension tool (AWX-1)

I just ordered Bruce Arnn's (www.arnnworx.com) new AWX-1 and will be using this space to take pictures and to give it a review for the rest of you guys.

I've used the 9201 and the krikit and was able to get reliable readings with both, so I feel comfortable testing it and telling you guys what I think of it.

I hope it's a reasonable alternative to the cheap-feeling krikit and the insanely high priced 9201.

Well. Item arrived? I didn't hear any replies to the emails I sent but then in the age of firewalls/spam/antivirus removal tools what could be expected.

VERY slick product that Bruce has on re-sealing the throttle body. I did not realize I had a huge leak in my throttle body until I pressurized it to 10-15 psi.

I thought I would reply since my comment sounded a little negative.

Bruce does not hang around here but potential customers do. Quick turn around and very good product. Highly recommend.

Alex, I'm glad it all worked out. I remember when I bought from him before, the emails were always short and to the point, much like FRWilk and IceShark. I appreciate these guys inventing and coming up with improvements for our cars.

Also, AFJuvat agreed to give the AWX-1 a try after I get it. So, I'll do my little write-up, ship the tool to him, and we'll all see what he thinks about it.

The tool arrived while I was away, so I will give it a try as soon as I can. It looks pretty sweet... a little complicated, but it looks good. I need to get a 35 inch lbs torque wrench, which I thought wouldn't be a big deal at all, but no parts stores out here have one that small. Also, it needs to be reversable.

So... it'll probably be two weeks before I get a chance to try it out.

Nearest sears is approx 150 miles away, so I think I'll just order the tool from Bruce... I might get two, that way one can be dedicated to left torque and one to right torque.

How about Harbor Freight? Or Northern?

I got an inch/pounds torque wrench from like autozone or advanced auto parts, it was decent quality. I just use if for small bolts and convert from pounds to inches by multiplying the foot by 12.

1 inch pound force = 0.0833333333 foot pound Google the conversion of foot pounds to inch pounds. I used to think it was 12:1 Not so.

of course it is. 1/12 = .083333333

so 8 ft/ib = 96 in/lb.

same thing just a different way to look at it
