*applause*

dont worry, the Ontario government will be out probably in the next couple years and force people like you and me to do this yet again... lol they're already talking about it...

and I dread that day because my car probably has more emissions than a burning barrel of oil......

i have no worries about my car having to go thru all that bull$#@t again, as i'm very confident, it will pass again. yes, they have been talking about testing all cars again, but its been provan, time and time again, that this system is flawed, and really only a tax grab for the gov. on the one hand, they say "your car has failed the test", on the other, you can drive it, but you have to pay $500, and we grab the tax!
eldorado, they are even talking about making everyone take a driving test again, and possibly every 5 years too. jeez, whats next? probably going to make me take my trades test!!
regards, bob.
p/s, are you going to 944 fest, in july?

Here the AQMD just keeps lowering the max amounts. Soon my 944 will be required to meet emmissions lower than what a brand new 944 can.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

hi hugh. i feel your pain ! i did notice that my last emissions test, was harder than the previous one. they incrementally decrease the chances of passing. strangely, this last time, they did not even check the cat?? not worried, as it made passing easier.
here in ontario, once your car is 20 years old, thats it, you are done with testing. so, you either have a brand new vehicle, and change it every 3 years to be emissions exempt, or you have a 20+ year old car, and be exempt, because in between, they will tear you a new @$$hole, just to keep your car "legally" on the road.

I often wonder if the goal of the green movement is to make us all amish.

Depends on how you define "emmissions".
