finally running, but now no power
Hi,
OK, I solved the no start problem, turns out the rear speed sensor was barely disconnected where it plugs into the rest of the wiring harness. You couldn't tell by looking at it, I pulled on it a little and "tink!" it disconnected. Clicked back in and it started. Now the problem is that it runs a little rough and has no power. The idle is about 300 rpm low, and the throttle response is really slow. It runs even and idles, and won't stall, but it acts like it's not getting enough fuel. It used to do this occaisionally when it was running correctly: hesitate/no power/super slow throttle response for a couple of seconds, and then snap out of it and ZOOM! Any ideas? |
Opps, I forgot to mention:
84' 944, new belts and water pump, new pressure regulator & damper, new temp sensor in the head, new DME (used). It sat for most of 22 months after the water pump blew, while we moved. Then, I got parts, fixed things and solved the no start problem. |
Might have a vacuum leak between the AFS and the throttle body. Check the large J shaped duct and it's associated vacuum lines.

maybe the flapper door on air meter is sticking?
|
maybe the fuel filter?
|
After sitting for two years yes it could be a clogged fuel system. Filter as above and the injectors too. The injectors can be taken off and back flushed with shop air and solvent.
