take the lite bulb out, hell take 'em all out you'll save the battery and alternator.
the only time you need to check 'em is just before the brake failure. you need to grow up macho man, you're dangerous. ![]()

The only real option if you are not using new sensors is to remove teh instrument cluster light.

the lite is the telling you you have worn brakes. what you do with the info the lite is trying to tell you affects people driving around you if/when you have the brake failure, but didn't want to deal with the fact that the lite was on. to me, you knowing that you have faulty brakes and are looking for a way to disable the lite, because you tire of the warning, is dangerous. 87951

The vast majority of brand new cars don't even have a brake pad warning light because it's just plain un-necessary with the squeel indicators that are built into pads. The pad warning lights are a neat little gimic, but not much else.

easy fix! all that the sensors are is a circuit that is designed to be rubbed into when the pads wear down. cut the wires off the sensor and connect them together, i can't be held responsible, however if your brakes fail and someone gets hurt.

Yeah, but the stock pads for 944 (or any P-car for that matter) i.e. pagid, jurid, textar, etc., do not have squeal indicators because they have the provision for the wear sensors. that grinding you hear is the backing pad scraping against the rotor.
Some of the other aftermarket pads, like Hawk, do have the squeal indicators because they do not have the notch for the wear sensors So, again, to answer your question, if you have the sensors disconnected, you need to remove the lightbulb from the instrument cluster. AFJuvat

i'll have to disagree on this one, by short circuiting the sensors you're overiding the whole warning system. there is no way for the pads to trigger the light no matter how new or worn out they are. all the sensors are is a loop of wire that connects two wires together if your sensors have not been worn through you can just take them off of the pad and zip tie them back.

You mean you guys don't check your brakes on a regular basis? Every time I change the oil I check all four wheels.
