low temp thermostat question

I am going to install a 160 degree thermostat from napa. I want to put in a new lower temp thermoswitch from pelican as well, so should I use the 75 degree or the 92 degree. I am leaning towards the 75.

Why do you want a lower temp thermostat? Lowering the operating temp lowers engine efficiency and fuel economy. Also lower temp means more tendency for the oil to form sludge.

I did both of these and was pleased with the results. Temp gauge hung around between first and second line.

I have the 160 from NAPA and that alone is great I now have temps right in the middle all the time. Make sure you reuse your old thermostat gasket if you can - the NAPA one is different.

Depending where you live(I live in Florida), I run a 160 thermostat and it works great. I did not get the fan switch from Pelican; I found another source on-line that had about four different temp switches available, and I installed one with a rating in the middle. I tried the Pelican temp swithes and the fans either came on too late(in my opinion) or were on all the time.

It was 'thepartsbin.com'; I belive I got the 77-82C switch.
