shift boot support frame help
On my 83 porsche 944 i have a new shift boot support frame, but it wont seem to stay in place. It has 4 clips on corners that should snap into place on the console but it never seems to stay on. Is there a technique to keep it on, or should i just cut the clips off and glue the piece down? Thanks.

mine dances around also. Part of the problem for me was that the inner boot rubber piece was torn and pushing against that frame in weird ways. hard to describe. Another part of my problem was that the linkage needed adjusting, so my throw was too far and it was making the whole boot piece move.

I drilled each corner into the tunnel sheetmetal and screwed it down. Been wanting to make an aluminum replacement.
