944 Interior door handle replacement
I snapped off my interior door handle on the driver's side of my 87 944.
I have acquired a used handle that is the complete assembly. It looks like the handle should slide and snap on to the assembly. How do I remove the one I just got without breaking it, so I can put it on my car. Perhaps this is not the way to accomplish this, that is why I am making this post before doing anything. I want to do as little as necessary. Thanks in advance! P.S. Just like to thank all who advised me to keep a spare DME fuel pump relay in my glovebox. It saved me this summer and I ordered another right away to put in the glovebox. I also keep a spare that is jumpered. |

it is held in with some screws and a pin. You should be able to remove the broken handle, drive the pin out to free the cable, reinsert the cable in the new handle, then secure with the pin.
