Alrighty, gonna need some help finishing this up...
OK, I've worked on this head gasket job for a few weekends, and I'm fairly close to finishing it. I have one question that I know of right now...
I did a through cleaning of the injectors, and I resealed them, all according to AFJuvat's guide. I bought the kits for the early injectors. The problem is that the hats are taller, and the metal tip doesn't stick out of the plastic caps. Is this how it's supposed to be? I just need to reinstall the intake and route the vacuum lines, and then I'm done with this project. I'm really looking forward to it, I just need a little help here. Thanks. |

Well I have not personally encountered this problem but have seen it come up a few times now. Check out this thread from a couple weeks ago and look at the thread in the link I posted. I believe the link that I posted there will help you out more.

Wow, I'm a regular here...I can't believe that slipped past me.
So what I'm getting at is that the new Bosch caps are prone to leaking and are no good? Anyone resealed the injectors with the Bosch kit with good results? (BTW, they're early injectors...I don't know if there's a difference near the tip) |

The newer hats are a little longer.

The tips are still about 1mm from sitting flush with the holes in the caps. That's OK?
