P/Steering "morning sickness"??? 1985.5
Any ideas on a power steering that acts like hard manual steering until all is warm? Is there a common fix for this? Just installed rebuilt rack but nothing has changed.
Thanks! |

Check that your PS belt tension is correct, and try changing over to synthetic Dexron.
Cheers, Brian

Cold belts slip easier than warm ones. I'd suspect it's belt tension. Usually when they're cold, they don't make a lot of noise when they slip if they're loose. That's where I would start, as already mentioned. If no luck there, check your steering fluid level. I run synthetic ATF, but it's not really necessary where I am, and it's warmer there than it is here.
