944 didn't pass smog.. seeking shop in Los Angeles

I am told that it likely needs a new o2 sensor. Looking for a recommendation for a shop in Los Angeles or Pasadena that knows what they are doing. Thank you for any referrals.

IF (big if) it really does need an O2 sensor, you can change it yourself in about 10 minutes. Like he said, post the #'s though - you need to be sure that's what it is as a replacement ain't cheap (might also be a cat converter, vaccum leaks, or any one of a number of other sensors).

Agreed, I'd like to see the numbers. And I'd like to know of a good area shop. I'm in Pasadena.

If it does need a new 02 sensor, I have one I haven't installed yet on my car. I think it was $50 from Paragon. Installing that yourself would probably be cheaper than going to a shop?

Take a look at this thread I have going...lots of helpful info in there.

Failed Smog-Suggestions?

I too was recommended an 02 sensor by a smog tech, and through the suggestion of board members have been able to lower my NOX by about 400ppm. My saga is still in progress though.

The plot thickens (clutch)

Hydraulic clutch went out in Mexicali. Think it needs rebuild or replace master/slave cylinders. I will get the car back into the US this week and will likely find a way to get it to San Diego. Anyone have that reference for a 944 mechanic but now in San Diego? LOL, but that would be the most convenient. By the way, I live in San Felipe, Baja, so that is why this is such a challenge.

AFA the smog, here are the numbers. The car passed visual, failed emissions....

have you run some good injector cleaner through the system? 3M and techron are good choices.

You left your Porsche in Mexico?

Kiss that one goodbye.
